CROP Hunger Walk
WHAM / Hightstown CROP Hunger Walk
Every year, our local area ministerium (Windsor-Hightstown Area Ministerium or WHAM) in association with Church World Service coordinates a CROP Walk. The CROP Walk raises funds to help in the fight against worldwide hunger. Volunteers walk a course of about 5 miles to signify the walk some people (often women with children) make each day just to gather water for their family. The walkers get sponsors to support them (by donating funds to CROP Walk) for completing the Walk. In 2012, 15 churches and synagogues participated in the WHAM CROP Walk and raised over $19,000! How can you help? You can participate by walking or sponsoring one of our walkers. Walkers can register by picking up a walker donation envelope from Ed Barber. Walkers can also register at the East Picnic Area of Mercer County Park on the day of the Walk. |
